There are people on these boards who equate liberalism with political correctness, a category error that means they are usually wrong when they attack one or the other. When I was a lad, and embarrassingly left-wing, I nonetheless joined in the mockery of those right-on people who went to extremes, and we called them 'ideologically-sound'. The term 'politically-correct' was already used in America then, not that I knew that at the time, and came to replace this term. It was also invented by liberals embarrassed at the extreme ends of its spectrum.
